What a lovely and wonderful adventure!! I love that you talked about “Amy”. My own “Amy” tries to talk me out of things too, most recently my first ultra marathon at the age of 65. I told Amy to hush and I met my goal of 50K! My first!!

Oh that Amy, she is so darn noisy at times eh?! Well done you Jamie! 65 sounds like a ripe age to find out that you can do new and amazing things. Bloomin marvellous. Here's to many more 'firsts' to come. Lorra love xx

Brilliant Anna! Fantastic way to ease yourself back into training maybe (?). Great adventure anyway. I'm just about to start my next adventure in a couple of weeks and I'm feeling nervous.

Hi Anna,

My plan is to set off walking from home in Grimsby and just keep walking until I don't want to any more. I'll camp most of the time, visit family around the country, and probably do some House Sitting (Trusted Housesitters) and volunteer organic gardening (WWOOF). We've sold our house and my wife (also Anna) is buying a home for herself.

Next year I'm planning to through-hike the Appalachian Trail in the US, and maybe the Camino de Santiago de Compostella the following year. In the UK I'd like to take in trails like Offa's Dyke, Cotswold Way, maybe Pennine Way - lots of possibilities.

All sounds a bit crazy and scary!

Richard

Hi Anna, loved reading this ☺️ I’m quite often up these hills but I’ve never done them end to end, would you mind sharing the route you took? I might give it a go after bedtime one evening too! X

The Malverns are my local stomping ground. Me and my 1 year old cocker spaniel love a walk up “The Big Bugger” 😂 What a lovely post 😊
